FOUR WINDS ENERGY CO-OPERATIVE
Four Winds Energy Co-operative owns two 500 kW wind turbines: the Duckmanton turbine (between Duckmanton and Inkersall, near Chesterfield) and the Shafton turbine (between Grimethorpe and Cudworth). Both are located on former colliery sites.
We raised £3.4m through a share offer in Summer 2014 to buy the wind turbines, with the aim of combatting climate change and doing so in a way that also provides local people with a stable, reliable source of income through returns on their investments and through our community benefit fund.
